Parents are welcome to come down to Lake Benalla with their children on Sunday mornings at 9am, meeting on the foreshore near the new Library centre, where a mini-tri training session will be held every week, commencing from Sunday the 8th of November. Children need to be at least 8 years of age, and parents need to be present during the training session.
On Sunday mornings, children can expect to train short distances in all three disciplines of triathlon. A 50m to 100m swim in the lake (or YMCA outdoor pool if the lake is not suitable to swim in), followed by a cycle around the lake bike path of between 2 and 4kms, finishing with a short run of between 500m and 1km around the Lake Benalla path. The training program is aimed to be fun and is run in an enjoyable atmosphere. The session usually lasts about an hour.
Children are welcome to join the Benalla Triathlon club, --all membership costs for Junior memberships will be fully re-embursed by the club for the 2016-17 season. This is to encourage new junior members to try out the sport for minimal outlay for a whole season.
